LGBTQ+ Student Athletes To Face Banned From Sports Because Of History Of Discrimination

The US Supreme Court is set to rule on the right to compete in men's or women's sports in a historic ruling this year. The court has yet to rule on whether the NCAA can force schools to enforce the ban on LGBTQ+ athletes by not allowing them to compete. LGBTQ+ students are set to face discrimination by not having to compete in sports due to history of discrimination. Students were barred from women's or men's sports at the University of Iowa and others for being transgender in the past. The decision will have far-reaching consequences for NCAA and college athletic programs and many sports teams. The decision means that trans people who are already in sports will not be allowed to compete. The ACLU is excited and hopeful about this victory, saying that the decision will benefit students everywhere and will help them to be equal at school. For more info: https://www.aclupa.org/
