The last two chapters of the story are about a girl who was born with an eye condition called vitiligo. She is described as having "the most beautiful eyes in all of New York City". Her mother, on the

other hand… She's got dark circles under her irises and freckles that seem to grow out of her face every time she looks at something bright or cold. It takes months for these spots (which appear after age 6) completely disappear but then they return when people look at her again before prty begins. When I read this book it made me want my own daughter – someone like myself whose skin has been damaged by radiation from Fukushima because we live near one of the reactors where radioactive material leaked into the ocean during the 2011 tsunami. We had no idea what would happen if our children were exposed to nuclear fallout; now their
