I went to !fairvote and I see: "we did it! We have X number of subscribers!"

Sure, that's a fair point, but also it's what the community sidebar was made for.
Jeez, you, @Sunshine@lemmy.ca, etc. are worse than the stereotypes of vegans or crossfitters. I support election reform and would be very happy with proportional representation, but you guys are too much!
I genuinely believe growing the movement for proportional representation is a critical - perhaps even more important than buying Canadian.
I apologize if it's annoying, but you can also block me if you don't like my content.
And since I did create the content for this post (and I am donating it into the world under CC-BY-NC-SA), shouldn't I be able to promote my other interests?
I like your content, and I appreciate what you bring to your communities. What I don't appreciate is how you force your pet project into every discussion. If you weren't so involved and connected, I would report your comment for being off topic, but I know that's pointless.
If you truly believe a comment is breaking the rules (e.g. off topic), then report it. Let the mods decide.

There's a simple solution, just ignore me. But given the fact that you're seeing my content, means it's not being downvoted but upvoted, meaning people actually value my content. Blame the game, not the player.

Just because it's popular, doesn't mean it's following the rules. Just look south of the boarder.
Again, I have no problem with you focusing on your advocacy, it's just when you bring it to unrelated discussions.

I am honestly acting in good faith and taking you seriously right now. If I instead promoted donated money to me directly (which could also be in the same vein of being unrelated discussion), would you have a problem with that? Probably not, but when it's a cause that actually helps Canada (even if it's annoying), then it's a problem? In either case, both (promoting self interests, or proportional representation) would be as obtrusive -- which is not much at all.

I never suggested popular means following the rules. The point I was making is that while you don't appreciate my content, many others do, so please know that you're not the only person that exists on this community.
You're more than welcome to report since they're not the only mod and it's helpful to have a record of it.
I'm seeing most of their comments linking that sub in !canada@lemmy.ca and other communities. In this community, they're active and it makes up a somewhat small and infrequent amount of their comments, so I wouldn't consider it spam personally.
But if we get reports from more people and the community has a problem with it then I'm happy to have a conversation about limiting or removing those types of comments.
I appreciate how much the two users you highlighted contribute to lemmy.ca and promote a vision of action and hope, especially in these times

It's fine to disagree but stereotyping and tagging another community member because they made one post about Canadian vegan products is uncivil.
Don't be a dick. Let's not turn Lemmy into a snarky reddit sub.
I was not intentionally commenting on someone's veganism, just the stereotype that a vegan or crossfitter will bring that into every conversation, whether it's related or not.
