OOTL: Americans, what's going on with your alligators?
I've seen people posting tweets from public figures talking about alligators, seen other people joking about alligators. It appears to me that the issue is political, not environmental, but I don't fully get the picture.

Florida has a lot of alligators – DeSantis is building a concentration camp in Florida (in the middle of Big Cypress National Preserve, a environmentally protected area) – and the conservatives came up with the bright idea of calling it “Alligator Alcatraz”
[everyone else is trying to decide between “Alligator Auschwitz”, “Everglades Concentration Camp”, or “Gulag 34141”]
Gator Gulag has a ring to it but what the hell is wrong with Americans? So many things wrong with that

I was born and raised in a country with plenty of deep seated corruption. I understand the mechanics allowing this to happen, but the style, that's american style. We didn't get things like these
