All this does make me wonder where the Iranian air defence went wrong
Simply put I just don't think Soviet era S-300s which make up the majority of Iran's AD are sufficient against stealth aircraft like the F-35. They would need quantum radar systems like China has to reliably counter them and Iran just isn't at that level.
