How long until these are mandatory as a way of tracking whether a player is onside? Depending on how cumbersome they are (or not), I can see it at least somewhat helping the assistant referees out on close plays, reducing the possibility of botched games.
Is it even better than the semi-automated offside system though?
I honestly don't have a clue. Unfortunately this seems to be a question only those with inside knowledge can answer with any authority.
