What’s the deal with the ‘Automated Archive’ posts from Reddit?

Came over from Reddit, and now I am trying to get the hang of things here. It feels like the ‘automated archive’ posts make up about 50% of my Lemmy feed. Why and how are they here?

I don't like them - I don't think they add to the community, so I block the bots posting them.
There's an option in your users settings to hide bot posts. From what I remember from my biggest instance all feed It also didn't seem to be too many different bots, just muting the Lemmit bot took care of most of it.
- Just wanted to tell you something funny: When I signed up a while ago I elected to hide bot posts. I didn't remember until I read your comment and I was lost when I saw this post because I was like, "What automated archive posts?" and "What is this person asking about, I don't see this stuff." LOL I might be senile already!
