Interview: Mike McMahan On Refining The Finale Of ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks’ And Planning A Push To Bring It Back

I thought tie finale was pretty well done. I’m sad it’s over, but if that’s all we get it works for me.
That said… I’d be happy for more, if it is of the same or better quality.
- It took Futurama a few cancellations before it got a wee bit stale..
- You could tell some plot points in the final episode were very rushed, like Rutherford's arc. I don't think this was the ending the writers planned or wanted, and the show is so good, it deserves to have the ending the writers can be satisfied with.
  That said, it was as good an ending one could expect given the circumstances, and I really hope we get at least two more seasons and a movie!
Crisis Point 3: Resurgence Factor
It was an excellent show. Almost all the episodes were pretty good and full of cameos and Easter eggs.
Since they announced that this would be the final season, I kind of thought the whole time that this would be the final season of lower decks and guessed that they would all become bridge officers and the show would continue under a different name.
It totally ended in a way where this could be plausible and they could simply call it “upper decks”.
I only wish that McMahan will continue to do Star Trek shows, I think he still has a lot to offer, don't have to be Lower Decks, it can be any other thing, animation or real image.
