I think it mainly concerns ci hetero guys, for several reasons.
First, most of them are horrified at the idea of touching or being touched by another guy (whereas it seems normal to them for girls to touch and kiss each other to turn the guy on).
It also avoids the risk of discovering that the other guy has a bigger dick. So FMF is less risky than MFM.

I agree in general - if the situation is me, a straight man, with two straight women, it generally doesn’t sound appealing.
