Last few tv shows I have downloaded I was surprised to see had been compressed to .rar format, with each episode having a .rar and then multiple files starting at .r01, .r02, etc.

It was a drag to uncompress the episodes one by one. I also noticed that the compression hadn’t even reduced the overall size of the show in GB. What am I missing?
