Avoiding AI is hard – but our freedom to opt out must be protected

I also wish the author would specify that he considers every computer algorithm to be AI, because reading the first few lines makes one think that everything on computers is now running entirely off AI

AI quietly shapes almost every part of our lives – from the news we read chosen by AI to how our cities manage traffic. AI promises convenience, productivity, innovation and efficiency. (...) AI powers essential systems such as healthcare, transport and finance.

Ask anyone with the bare minimum knowledge of computers and they'll tell you that those existing systems ARE NOT AI.
