In defense of OP and this phenomenon in general, it's super difficult to fully analyze a system of which one is part. So yeah, this is why we see effective life coaches whose own lives are a shitshow. Compounding that difficulty are the emotional attachments we have to specific outcomes of a given situation. Mark Manson goes into this in humorous fashion in "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck."
Maaan... short, quippy, and wrong. Also, super insulting to teachers.
I think this tired old saw keeps getting regurgitated when people really want to apply Sturgeon's Law: 90% of everything is shit. To state that another way, for just about anything, any attribute , only 10% of the population is acceptable.
The one case where the "those who cannot do" seriously applies is "Those who can no longer do, could maybe now teach." Also: build, practice, mentor. This is a natural progression for expertise and passing on your knowledge.
Those the right side of this image depicts would likely not express having this problem. You can strive in their direction if you'd wish.
I wish I could upvote more than once....
Pro-tip: don't date "life coaches."
