#PhotoOfTheDay is one for all the great FediHams out there: My Heil microphone with the custom callsign flag at the top. I think it is gorgeous!

- @scott@mastodon.clitheroe.ca 😂 Or maybe coughPEBKACcough... But seriously, I did get a lot of compliments on my audio with that mic. Much more so than my headphones with the slightly-tweaked "DX/pileup" element.
@croyle@wandering.shop That's an awesome looking microphone! Is that a microphone you use regularly, or is it more for shack decoration, which I would completely understand?

Most recently I've not been using it in lieu of using headphones, so my wife doesn't have to hear the radio blasting at times. 😂 I also don't have a lot of room in front of my radio on the desk, I recently shifted some things to make more space, so it may make a return to regular use, which I'd like.
  
  @croyle@wandering.shop Even though my wife would never hear me while I'm on the radio, I always prefer to use a headset. I never had a desk mic, exactly because of the space reason you mentioned. I once had a boom mic for a while that I rarely used, and didn't bother to reinstall when we moved here.
