For the first link, I was sort of into into it, until he started vaguely pantomining kung fu moves. Lost my lunch there.
For the second, I've never seen that, seems a bit before my time. But it's amazing and I need to go find more now.

Yeah, multiple shows & movies were doing lame taiqi-ish moves in the 80s to seem interesting (e.g. Worf's exercises in ST:TNG).
Gerry & Sylvia Anderson did a bunch of Supermarionation scifi shows in the 60s that have been in repeat on UK TV probably ever since: Thunderbirds , Captain Scarlet & the Mysterons , Fireball XL (less so as it's B&W IIRC), and of course Stingray.
Thunderbirds even got a big budget, live action Hollywood adaptation in 2004 (although not well received and apparently tanked director Jonathan Frakes' big screen directing career).
