Being almost exclusively a bus and ferry user for the last 10+ years, I've just recently moved to where trains are the more optimal option. It feels weird not to be able to thank the driver when I get off.
This doesn't make up for the abysmal 30 minute frequency in peak hour.
Maybe you could stand up the front and at least wave to him....or give him the thumbs up.
I get to thank the ferry driver and the rope thrower. Heck I sometimes even tell the driver that he's "getting good at this". Lol

Just another reason 90% of people with yanktanks are posturing rather than actually buying the vehicle which is most practical for them.
I hear you but those big stupid machines have some pretty amazing specs. And a contractor at work showed me what "mileage" he was getting from his 6.4 litre diesel beast.
