Le Sortie de l'opéra en l'an 2000 is a print from the late-19th century depicting a futuristic view of air travel over Paris as people leave the opera. Many types of aircraft are shown including flying buses, limousines and, what are presumably, police vehicles.
Dang - meant to comment on this when you posted it. The design for those flying ships reminds me of Miyazaki, like in Howl's Moving Castle.
These would be great to fly around in, if there weren't any air or uhh, physics.
Yeah, pretty sure my fancy opera hat would blow off :)
