Have you seen the new Rangers? They're at least as big as the F150 used to be.
As a fan of the old Rangers, it's disappointing to see them that big.
It’s an unfortunate result of generations of inbreeding.
I don't remember where I saw it, but trucks are getting bigger due to some weird emissions loophole where larger vehicles can just be less efficient.
Happens to most car models that live that long. Making a new generation better and bigger every time means that you gotta come up with smaller alternatives to slot below. Modern maverick is probably closer in size, esp if it wasn't for modern safety and styling.
If you have some spare time it's kinda fun looking at those situations on carsized or just comparing yourself. Modern Honda City for example is almost the same size as a three generations old Civic sedan.
Yep, the Maverick is now the little brother to the Ranger
The Maverick is not smaller than the Ranger
edit: I mean the original Ranger. not the current abomination
I love my gen 3 ranger, it'll be a sad day when I have the let the ole F-50 go. she takes up less space than my wife's Subaru. always gives me a chuckle
Did you guys kiss afterwards or nah?
Why would you compare a truck 3+ class sizes up? It literally tows double the weight and has 3 times the TQ.
Yes, there are different sized trucks for different use cases. Yet, larger trucks became the norm and smaller trucks essentially disappeared. Did everyone start hauling more? Somehow I doubt it.
I have a big truck. I got it to haul our travel trailer, but we don't have our trailer anymore. I would love to downsize but there aren't a lot of options these days. I would love it if Chevy brought back the S-10. They stopped selling it 20 years ago, around the time everyone started to convince themselves that they needed a half ton or larger truck.
But they're driven by the same kind of people.
Any data on that whatsoever? I live in farm country and a 3500/350 are exceedingly rare as dailies.
Please link me the 2016 axios. I can't wait to tear into it.
Those parking spaces, though... I hope European parking spaces never grow to similar sizes.
