🤣...was it? I was planning to watch it tonight. Might be rethinking this decision.
Here is what I have posted about that show.
FYI if just got a second season order. Given that S1 story is completely contained and resolved it will be totally new:
Sigh is all I have too say.
The show takes place in Yosemite National Park and there are some gorgeous scenes. Though I suspect most of the filming was not in the park.
The cast did what they could with the crap they were given.
The show started off ok and just went down hill. The story was so predictable, there were some side plots that just went nowhere. Characters became caricatures the longer the show went on and there were a few (three) too many last minute rescues that were just so insultingly bad. The big twist at the end was telegraphed a mile away.
The whole mess is just on par with so much of what Netflix churns out.
It was a self-contained story line, so I'm curious as to how they are going to make a new season from it.
I watched the first episode and nothing really caught my interest.
The characters all seemed like the usual tropes in these kind of shows: the tragic hard-to-work with genius, the earnest newbie out to prove themselves, the clueless detective who gets it right when it matters, the boss making ultimatums due to past events, etc.
Department Q is basically the same, but it is actually entertaining to watch.
Good lord the show was an utter dud.
