Poland (like all of the western world) is sliding into fascism. Not populism.
When liberals use the word “populism” to rebuke election outcomes, they’re telegraphing their anti-democratic support for technocracy. They believe the people cannot be trusted to rule themselves, and are advocating for dismantling public influence in elections.
The liberals don’t like conservative fascism, but they hate the idea of socialism more. Which is why they see some vision of liberal technocratic feudalism as a preferable alternative.
