He testified that he was responding to what he viewed as "police brutality" and acting out of anger. "Those are terrible things to say. Of course. I shouldn't say those things," Wise testified. "I think I was careless and used, like, terrible words when I was angry." He said the terms Nazi and Gestapo came to mind because of law enforcement training he had received from the Anti-Defamation League and past visits to Holocaust museums. A federal prosecutor pressed Wise about his rant against police. "You yelled, 'shame on you, shame on you?'" Assistant U.S. Attorney Taylor Fontan asked. "I did," Wise replied. "And you meant it or you wouldn't have said, right?" Fontan asked. "I assume yes," Wise said. "And you meant 'Kill 'em, kill 'em, kill 'em, get 'em, get 'em,' right?" Fontan asked. "No," Wise said. "I think that was just an angry reaction." "Okay. So you meant it 10 seconds before and then all of a sudden you didn't mean it, right?" Fontan said. "No," Wise testified. "I don't think I meant kill 'em, I don't want people to die."
Imagine that we're you or me at an ICE protest.
Shocking no one that has been paying attention for the last decade.
- Seeing how things are going, it seems people haven’t paid attention for the last century.
He's really a perfect hire for the Trump DoJ. First he yells at police that they are NAZIs and Gestapo and then goes and joins Trump's Gestapo. Such a near inhuman capacity to withstand cognitive dissonance must be very handy at the DoJ now.
Deeply torn between MAGA and ACAB on this one.
- We need cops to realize that MAGA will absolutely turn on them if they sense any shred of hesitation to be 100% onboard with everything they do. Most of these thin blue line MAGA types totally fantasize about killing the cops they think are "oppressing" them, they only like cops when they are oppressing the "correct" people

  If the police had joined the mob and helped them storm the capital, they wouldn't have been attacked on Jan 6th. In fact, many of the rioters were - themselves - police, ex-military, or members of private security services.

  Sure. Because it's a cool Rambo-esque fantasy where you single-handedly beat a group of trained professionals at their own game.
  But in practice? A meager handful of capital security guards were able to bar the doors and secure exit for the legislature, despite hundreds of protesters trying to storm the building. It remains a fantasy for a reason.
  The real victory of MAGA has been in replacing leadership at these paramilitary agencies and turning them against the general public. Not in forming an anti-cop lynch mob.
