Why is it that people are always surprised when they walk into a restaurant?
I've heard the saying that you’re always surprised when you enter a restaurant and that people always say that when you enter, especially if the wait staff is wearing a costume.
Because there was an incident where I had a customer walk into a restaurant, and the server asked him “Are you sure you don’t want to eat here?” I don’t think I could have handled it without hurting my pride.
That’s just rude. I think it would’ve been better to just explain to him that they were closed and they wanted to eat there and ask them not to bother. I guess the server wouldn’t be the one who would apologize. You could have said “Sorry” and they could have said “Sorry for having a rude customer.” But that’s a conversation you’d never have with an angry customer. They are a part of your staff. I think that’s just rude.
This is what they say when people say "You don't want to eat here?" They don't want to eat because you're rude. They say, "you don't want to eat here because we don't want to eat here." They don't want to eat because you're rude. They don't want to eat because you're rude. They don't want to eat because you're rude. They want to eat because they're rude.
