How to get the local LGBTQ groups to sign it. I want my local LGBTQ group to be a safe space for all who identify with that group and do not want that group to be a target of hateful speech. I think if you start making noise, then you're probably not going to change anything. This isn’t going to change anything.

You mean, like a small letter from a letterhead that states "I support equality for everyone" but can also be used to silence criticism of those same organizations? You know, the "you can't be a homophobe because I'm gay" letter that can get used against you whenever you make a joke about something?
A letter from the LGBTQ+ Community League that has nothing to do with the letterhead
We are not homophobic, we are queer.
Its basically "if you dont like this, youre a homophobe and need to go to a group that explicitly opposes it" and the implication being "the only way to make this point is to try and silence them, otherwise youre just a bigot".
