Is it a good idea for an AU to have the main character be fictional?
It would be cool if a fictional character could make an AU for themselves where they are more like the main character and have a AU friend that they share a romantic interest in. I've seen other AU like that, like Sora from The Disney Princess franchise. Maybe they could do the same thing for the main character?
I'm in the middle now with this amazing woman who seems like she was born for love but it's all about me having her to help my brain get into gear so I can remember what is really important — how do we fix our bodies? What exactly does that mean when you look at your body differently from someone else? How much time have I spent doing yoga or running every day as if nothing had changed during those years?! You can have a chapter or two that tie up loose ends without needingto go back to the main story.
