    Today was probably my first auto pilot shave where I just did it and did not think about it.

    Very nice! I still get better shaves overall from DE's, but that's not a knock on straight razors. I sort of tried to maintain a shallower angle today, and I think this razor really excels with that type of approach.

    I've been really enjoying some boar brushes the past few days. The 1800 is floppier than the 1305 which I used for the past 2 or 3 days. I also had trouble loading enough soap with it, so I went back to the puck for each pass. Semogues are less dense than the Zenith brushes I have, and they seem to require much less soaking before use. It's amazing how much variation there is amongst boar brushes. I like all of the ones I have, but they all offer something different.

      For me, all straight razors perform better with a low angle. It took me over 100 shaves to be able to get a straight razor shave that was closer and more comfortable than with a DE, and I worked on it. With over 1000 straight razor shaves, I still am. The nice thing about AA is that most other variables are fixed so I can focus on tweaking technique.

    Yesterday I was too tired to shave, after an excursion into Pitralonistan. We went to see the Rheinfälle in Schaffhausen, which was quite impressive (think Niagara falls, but in Switzerland). The place has potential, but I couldn't help noticing how poor the branding is. In German, Rheinfälle is homophonous with failures. How difficult could it be to rename the whole thing to something more appealing - something like Rhizzfalls or the like? Or maybe just slap some Trump branding on it, in exchange to get rid of the extreme tarrifs? Anyways, that's enough advice for Tourism Switzerland for today.

      I don’t think the Swiss could handle Trump’s style, even for signage. 😉

    • Schaffhausen used to be where my father stayed during his time as a tiler on assembly work in Switzerland. Nice part of the country with very friendly people around. We often visited the Rheinfälle, since it was just 5 minutes from the hotel where all the workers stayed. The surrounding area with its great nature makes for some nice hiking trips, definitely worth a visit. If Schwyzerdytsch is used, it doesn't need any Trump or other names: it's Ryfall then IIRC, spoken with an "ü" instead of a hard y. Even though I audibly chortled at "Rhizzfälle" 😂

    Great shave! The adjustments I've made to my technique for daily 3-pass shaves are working incredibly well. This unstropped edge is performing magnificently.
