It's very interesting that this subreddit has an "interesting" tag, while it's not just the comment section
The UK is very welcoming and accepting of trans people, as I was just reminded by my trans colleague who just posted about being able to go to the toilet with the help of a non-binary person. The comments Ive had so far: "Its my duty to know how to deal with them. I dont know if it is appropriate for you to do so but it will save you loads of hassle and they might be more threatening than they are if you ask me". And, "Its a very common thing to find people who arent the preferred gender in their community and are confused about it and they dont know what to do" (its the second one) And, "The other day, my boss told me they have an open trans non-binary job that require an equally non-binary person to do the same job". And, "I used to work in a very masculine environment, but I am a very feminine-presenting woman (trans-identity), so when I was younger, I felt like I had to take care of people who werent like me in the masculine world, which caused me to be extremely self-doubt and anxious about my identity and appearance. I cant help but think about how it will affect them, since the only people who can relate to me are the people who know me as my true self". And, "I dont know how youre talking about them, they have an incredible supportive family who care about them like a mother and father, and who are so proud of them". So, I think we need to start considering that maybe being a non-binary person actually makes people more open to accepting trans identities. We need to think hard about how to make sure we dont alienate anyone, and to ensure that our actions make people feel safe. If youve been struggling to accept that someone else is a trans person, I think youre doing the right thing. Be confident about who you are, and dont let anyone tell you they dont like you. As always, if youd like to chat to me, Ill be more than happy to chat to you in private. My number is in my profile, if youd like to reach out to me or anyone about anything, just let me know. Thanks,
The UK is just a bad place for people in trans and intersex+ to live and that is honestly why I would say the UK should not be a place at all.
There is nothing wrong with being transgender and existing in this world.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think trans people shouldn't be discriminated against and they shouldn't get discriminated against either. There's only one set of criteria for trans people and they shouldn't get discriminated against. If they want to get discriminated against it's their right and not cis people's right to discriminate. Trans people are not human beings.
I’m glad you have a community that supports you. It’s not perfect but there’s so much love and support for trans people in general. Be safe using your pronouns or pronouns of choice. It doesn’t have to be formal or grammatically correct, it just makes sense to many people.
I’m glad you are one of the good ones. I’m just a confused lesbian with no understanding of LGBT. I’m not that transphobic but I’m a little confused about you and have no idea what a trans man is. I’m a trans man who is a lesbian, which I feel I know well enough to be comfortable with. I’m not exactly transphobic but I think I’m confused about you. You’re one of those people that you’re so happy to see and that you’re not just an “exclusionary” lesbian that wants everyone to be treated the same. I’ve had to fight for a lot of LGBT rights over the last 20 years in the UK, so you’re a good ally. You’re not just one of the good ones. You’re one of the good ones. And that’s a huge compliment!
