I’m in a similar situation. I was brought up in a household where there was very little difference between “man’ and “woman”. I’ve had a very hard time accepting that. I’m not saying I don’t want to be seen as “better” than others, but I want to be accepted as a person, not just as a woman. I am not saying “man’s” or “woman” as if it’s an insult. But I think it’s hard to be an ally when people don‘t believe you’re a real person. When I’m surrounded by men who think they are “better” than you, I can see it as a toxic narrative. I feel it being an ally would be a better route than continuing to argue that “man” and “woman” aren’t the same thing.

Man, the reason I started this subreddit was to be a safe space for men in general. I cant stand hearing about womens inferiority or anything like that, and I like hearing about other mens achievements and stories of their brilliance and charisma. And I like hearing about womens struggle to excel in a male dominated field and how they often feel ignored and left behind, especially when the men arent in the field. This sub is not meant to be a forum for criticizing women or bragging about how inferior some men are. Its just a place to share tips and strategies for improving yourself as a man or woman.
I guess we’ve had some kind of "it’s all about the money, isn’t it" mentality for a while. Maybe they’ve never been men?
