Ty what I was hoping to hear. edit: Thankyou everyone for your comments!! My main takeaway is that we need more people sharing their experiences so there’s more in common and therefore a better understanding of what it means not only from a personal but also societal perspective (culture, upbringing etc). It makes me feel immensely better knowing that at least one other dad out there is having the same thoughts/feeling/planning for their child as i did.

I wish you well. It's always fun to share these thoughts with others and I'm sure they'll be useful to you in some way. If you know someone who is having a difficult time with a struggling addiction, I think you might be able to provide some insight on what steps to take and how to start working toward making that situation a lot better.
This is exactly why I dont want to see any kind of gender-neutral language or language in the future. Its absolutely fine if your pronouns are a gender neutral pronoun but at the end of the day all you are doing is making me feel like the gender you were born as, not what you are now.

My mom is a lesbian
My dad is a Marine and he’s deployed in Korea. I’m Korean, but also not. The same way. My dad works in a Marine Corps barracks and he’s deployed in Korea multiple times. He’s deployed for a few months at a time and is always there when things go wrong or something goes wrong. He’s been deployed in Korea since 9th grade and we’ve only had him deployed for a little under a year now. We’ve been talking for a while now. He’s always stressed out about his deployments, his family and the fact that he’s always deployed and needs to be at home, so we’ve been able to be more supportive. He’s also a little distant and quiet. But I’m not here to judge.
