Do Lemmy users benefit from alt text in posts that contain photos?

I am asking because it seems pointless from my side to take more time to make my posts more accessible, if no one actually use it/ read it.
So, does it benefit you or anyone you know on Lemmy?

I assume it's a great boon for vision-impaired users. But I have no idea about the numbers.
I hear you, but markings on the ground leading to zebra crossings doesn't benefit me nor anyone I know. But I bet someone uses them and I'm glad effort is taken to put them there
