Maybe the problem is more infinite waste rather than finite resources?
both waste and unsustainable resource consumption are equally problematic
Sure, I'm saying if we stop wasting so much (infinite growth, which is an oxymoron), consumption can be more easily managed.
Remember that the Roman empire ultimately fell because it expanded too much and couldn't keep control, caused mainly by the Roman ideology of unlimited conquest. We literally haven't evolved our societal theories beyond Rome.
