Hey @PugJesus@lemmy.world do you know if the people of Iraq then are the same that currently live there? Or is it kind of like what happened to ancient Egypt
- The people of ancient Egypt do, in fact, still live in Egypt. They're the same people, they just don't really speak Coptic anymore.
  
  Then I got sold false facts lol. I was in Hurghada last year and talking to a cab driver there. He said that there was at some point a great muslim invasion and they drove out most of the original peoples of Egypt, but then again he was a taxi driver, not a historian.
