Having weird issues when updating locations
Hey everyone
So I’ve been working on my local area using CoMaps updating old locations, putting them in the right place ETC.
However I’ve had the problem of an issue being resolved not once but several times? I know it sounds weird but I fixed the location of a local post office easy it was down the road of where it should have been. I put it in the right place and it’s done I got the confirmation and checked and it’s corrected. However last night I got not one not two but 4 emails saying the issue was resolved my another user who said there was nothing mapped there which is correct as the issue was already resolved and moved. Was my report not closed on open maps after it was fixed? And why did I get a email 4 times? I’m not sure if this is a CoMaps or an open street maps issue.
Anyways if anyone knows what could be causing this please let me know
Comaps creates a note when you edit a place, the other editor just closed those notes.
I suspect you edited multiple things on the poi, and comaps created separate note for each edits. It would help if you would share one of the notes or the post office
Comaps does not display those notes, but you can see them in openstreetmap.org, or in StreetComplete, or in OsmAnd if you enable the osm editing addon.
That might be it as I also corrected the time it opened and closed. However I made one note to move it and I believe another to change the times. I believed both of these were resolved on August 7th according the email I received confirming it was resolved. So I’m not sure why either of them would still be open. Unless it’s an error on my end or an issue with CoMaps.
Closed notes are not deleted, they are visible only on osm.org for a week after closure, but if you know the url you can always look them up, and they also accessible from the users osm profile anytime. I just wanted to investigate what exactly happened.
Or maybe it's a bug, and related to this issue: https://codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/issues/1005
