They are truly insufferable. Lot of crybabies on this app. I'd imagine half the users here have blue hair, piercings, white guilt, and pride flag bumper stickers.
I agree with the first part. I don't think you should kill yourself, but if you moved to Africa forever, I wouldn't mind.
- I'm fine with someone wanting me to move away. Not so cool with them asking me to kill myself and videotape it for them!

  I've just arrived home from vacation and this is what I found when I logged in. My bf read it before I did and yelled out a "What the fuck?!" So I came to see what he was talking about and see that DM. My bf is very upset. Sucks because I was just talking up how great Lemmy is. And then he sees that message directed toward me. :/
  Very troubling that there are people like this on here.
  I reported the DM via the flag icon on the actual DM and sent a message to @ruud@lemmy.world an admin for .world, but I don't know if that was the right person to report it to or not.
That's a pretty bad comment - probably unjustified
Theoretically speaking though, what would a community member have to do to justify that comment? Maybe support a party that is systematically destroying democracy, replacing it with kleptocracy? That supports cruelty as though it was a fun sport? That supports racism? That dismisses health and climate science as though it was just someone's opinion? All of the above and more? Would that be enough to justify such harshness?
Just wondering.
- Regardless of what you think of a political party, it's not cool to ask someone to kill themselves and film it so you can laugh at it. A difference of political opinions doesn't mean that people stop being human.
Another example of how extreme and hateful Lemmy can be to the trans community on here...just because some of us are conservatives.
