When the EU's former competition Commissioner, Margrethe Vestager, announced those preliminary findings she warned that the only effective remedy – should the violations be confirmed – would be for the EU to break up Google.
No other option would resolve the "inherent" conflict of interest flowing from Google's dominance of all sides of the ad market, Vestager suggested two years ago.

I cant wait to see how Ursula von der Leyen surrenders this to Trump.
This is 0.1% of Google's net worth.
- But almost 1% of Alphabet's revenue in 2024 (350 billion USD) and around 2.5% of their earnings (112 billion USD). Won't ruin them, but definitely hurts. And bear in mind that the revenue and earnings are worldwide while the fine is EU-specific. If you compared to EU earnings, the number would be even higher.

  I just hope they really stick to the fine and won't drop the charges...
Fuck the fines, start jailing those in charge. It ALWAYS happens, and fines has not once stopped them.
If I break the law, I go to jail. If large companies break the lawz they have to pay a small tax.
