If they’re not shouting vocally to eliminate this policy, then they are part of the problem. Who even writes an article like this? We shouldn’t be in a situation where the only way to escape your government kidnapping is if you “know a guy.” And then we write about it like these complicit assholes are some kind of quiet heroes.
