Billionaire Andrej Babis's ANO party was on track to win the Czech Republic's parliamentary election on Saturday, raising the prospect of a government that would boost Europe's populist, anti-immigration camp and reduce support for Ukraine.

I find it hillarious People has turned to a populist billionaire to "save their country" all around the world. Wasn't the point of a democratic process not, to reduce the power of the elite to benefit the People? (reduce power to the rich/government) what do you find so attractive in billionaires Saying what you wanna hear, just to, in the end, reduce taxes of the 1% (their friends and doners)?
- These billionaires own the media outright. And people are fucking retarded at the best of times, and these aren't the best of times.
- They find their ownership of the media attractive. It's not like it's a fair game the billionaires are playing.
  
  But my point is, how is the citizens not asking themselves: "What does this billionaire have as personal gain, from his populist agenda?"

  Hundreds of anonymous accounts on video-sharing platform TikTok have been increasingly active in spreading pro-Russia narratives and backing radical parties ahead of the Czech Republic's October 3-4 election, a non-governmental group said on Sunday.
  Online Risk Labs, a newly formed group of Czech analysts, said it had identified 286 TikTok accounts that have been boosting each other's content. Between them, they have 5 million to 9 million views per week - more than the combined reach of mainstream party leaders, the group said.

In 2021, when Babiš was Czech prime minister, he backed Hungary PM Orbán's anti-LGBT law.
Today, thousands attend the banned Pride march in the Hungarian city of Pecs, showing anti-government signs such as "Hungary is a dictatorship".
Maybe we see similar 'events' soon in the Czech Republic, while right-wing pro-Russian groups will demonize the West as it is now the case in Hungary?
Is it a president needs 50% election? Because the a-hole is projected to have most votes but "only" 30%.
Drumming up "problems" of immigration seems to have been the ticket to his success BTW.
