Honestly, it sounds like the cop was trying to be respectful while looking up their (potential) files.
Changing your name and changing the paperwork identifying your gender and then acting offended when officials need help tracking your identity is not a play to get sympathy from the people who are on the fence about gender issues.
The person in question was filming at a bus station, which could be a confrontational activity when police are present; I’m not sure if you need to identify yourself in Canada in that situation.
In any case it seems like a tempest in a teapot and a whole lot of complaining about someone who was trying to handle the situation as well as they were able. It’s not like the officer spent the next hour interrogating them using the wrong name.
Human rights
this contradicts what you said right before, is she has her documents in order, he has no business digging up her deadname
these people can fuck off to the sun at this point, siding with literal nazis
Her. And it's not like I called you nazi for a whole hour, just once.
Still could have used "legal name" but, yeah, doesn't sound like she was trying to humiliate her or anything.
Yup. Asking for previous names is pretty standard when doing government identity stuff.
