Microsoft’s new AI feature will organize your photos automatically

Unclear as of now if this is a local AI or their serverside AI scanning the photos.

me, who only has photographs of almonds, cashews, and pistachios on an external drive:
So will it be able to to organize D:'s nuts?
How the fuck does Microsoft or its shitty CoPilot AI know how I want my photos organised? Why are they wasting resources on this?
This kind of crap is why I self host Immich
- Immich actually uses machine learning to sort photos too
  
  Yup. It stops on my machine & my photos are organised how I want them organised. Immich is privacy respecting & the learning is performing an actual useful task in facial recognition & I believe contextual search.
  I dont trust Microsoft to do either & I'd certainly not want them organising anything.
Even if this was local and privacy friendly, I don't know anyone within my circle who stores their photos on their desktops or laptops anymore. I use Immich and most people I know use Google Photos or iCloud — basically mobile devices.
Adding this feature just adds to the bloat and its Microsoft — you can't trust them.
Microsoft can't even organise a settings menu or a toolbar. I don't fancy seeing private photos getting spat out of their image generating LLM in 3 years time
