We are hot on the heels of the second member of Ars's retinue. Seeing the early part of this story again after reading quite a bit of the manga really gives me some perspective on this story and the characters. I am going to put the rest of my spiel about this behind a spoiler tag, but it isn't super spoilery other than broad strokes that are already apparent in this episode. However, feel free to skip over it if you so choose.
To summarize the rant above in a spoiler-free way: I really like the characters in this show other than Ars. That includes liking the focus of this episode, Charlotte. One thing I really appreciate about her in this episode is that her mistrust and even hatred of nobility makes total sense! Her whole life has been a struggle for survival, of course she would hate a noble that hasn't known any of the hardships she has had to face. I had thought I recognized the VA for Charlotte, but looking on AniList, I haven't watched anything else she has done. I really liked Charlotte's voice in this episode.
As for a screenshot this episode, I thought it was quite funny when Rietz got a bit philosophical about economics with this line (@rikka@ani.social):
