Football is cringe
If it wasn't before, it certainly is now.
there's like 11 minutes of actual play in a 3 hour game. Not even exaggerating. The rest is ads, replays and watching people stand around twiddling their thumbs.
Don't forget all of the less than subtle gambling references.
Only if you don't count the time at the line of scrimmage, while the clock runs, as "play time." Which, imo, would be pretty ignorant of the sport.
It's four, 15-minute quarters of game time. And yes, several hours of ads, which is the main reason I stopped watching.
60 minutes play time NFL and college. Don't care I love college football even though my team has been hot ass the last 20 years and NIL, transfer portal, and conference expansion is making it worse.

I used to enjoy it, but as they kept injecting more and more ads, in addition to their horrific response to the concussion stuff, it's become unwatchable to me.
However, that being said, I think the sport itself is pretty good. Think of it as being "turn-based" rather than the "realtime" of soccer. There is an extreme amount of strategy involved, in addition to the necessary physical abilities. Also, weirdly, math sometimes lol
But yeah, not good enough for me to ignore the insane and dangerous culture of giving your child dozens of concussions before their brain is fully developed...
Particularly the NFL, which operates as a cartel with monopoly on what is effectively a blood sport.
