New tab page looks different after update

The link squares are smaller, and the grid of all the shortcuts has been moved down so that there's a big gap at the top and the page scrolls.

Open about:config and set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabLayouts.variant-b to false.

  I'm assuming this is a FF thing and not a Librewolf one; why do you think they changed it? It was fine the way it was. Getting more and intolerant of small changes to things in my old age . . .
  
  Yes, it's upstream, so I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find some Mozilla discussion about this if you look for it.
