Report Function?
I'm a little confused as to how the "report" function works. I'm an instance admin, but if I report a post on another instance, that report shows up in MY report queue. If I mark that report as "resolved" to get rid of the notification count, does it resolve it on the home instance?
I got this comment on another thread that answers my question:
The following people get a report when content is reported:
The community of the reported content
The instance administrator for the community of the reported content
The instance administrator for the person who reported the content
The instance administrator for the person who was reported
This makes my queue a mess at times, especially because federation is not instant and many apps cache content. I’ve had people on Beehaw report content on Beehaw that was already removed hours ago. When someone spams a bunch of content across communities on the fediverse (such as today with a prolific spammer) we can sometimes have dozens of reports for the same user because of all the reports generated above.
The queue all being the same is also really bothersome.
I want my communities to show the report until I (or someone from my mod team) deals with it. But when an instance admin marks it resolved, it disappears from my queue.
I think the report is sent to the admins of the instance you're logged into. Basically, you're reporting to yourself
That seems like a bad design? Why wouldn't it go to the mods of the community the post is in?
Oh. So how would I report it to the community mods?

I will explain what I understand with an example; let's say I want to report your comment (the one I'm replying to).

Then, because there is no way to "translate" a post / comment link from one instance to another, I need to go to !lemmy_support@lemmy.ml through the instance I want to report it. Let's say tkohhh.social
So I go to: https://tkohhh.social/c/lemmy_support@lemmy.ml and log in
Then I look for the post: https://tkohhh.social/post/10726
And if I report it there, the report should be sent to tkohhh.social's admins.
Note that (if this is correct) it requires an account on the instance you want to report to... which is why I did an unofficial report when I found a spammer on another instance, using the Meta community of that instance:
