  • Step 1: find a job in the middle of nowhere.

    Step 2: move there.

Sounds easy, no? To achieve it I moved to another country, learned a new language, took a 50% pay cut, and living here requires a lot more work just to be comfortable ... but I live halfway up a mountain in the middle of a nature reserve, it was worth it for me.

  • Under Decks, like Lower Decks but lower, lower, lower, TOO LOW, lower.

  • Doing plugs is super easy, but not a permanent fix ... for me they've only ever lasted about 1000km (but then a permanent plug put in by a tire shop can be found).

Changing tubes is a PITA, it requires practice and the right tools. I made my own trail stand and combination tire lever / wrench set because the off-the-shelf parts are expensive. So far I've only used it at home, but it only has to be needed once in the middle of nowhere to be worth it!

  • It really does do that, though then having to go to work instead of keep riding brings me down to earth with a bump, lol

  • The more I think about it, yes it would be a lot of fun!

  • That's fantastic, I would love to see a Trek / Pigs In Space crossover

  • Why? If anything the risk goes up.

  • Lucky escape with that nail! Does your extensive tool kit include a set of puncture worm thingies?

Sounds like a good go at adventure, though if you have a KLR there's no excuse for having someone else carry all the stuff, those things are pack mules!

  • "Do you want to go camping?"

Yes, any time it's pleasantly warm and I can disappear into the mountains or desert for a few days, away from signs of civilization.

    This was in september: https://i.imgur.com/d8GR02U.jpeg

Anywho, well done on doing your first trip! How did the others you brought along find it?

  • Or the duplicate crew and ship made it back and he was the only original member of the crew

  • An inline 4 with 2 exhaust pipes ...? That would make it pretty unique.

The engine is definitely a Royal Enfield 650 with some extra stuff stuck to it.

  • So that's what it stands for, Love Gay Bacon, Thanks!

  • They were both in their respective shows so that people could laugh at them, not with them.

  • That's the motivations of the character, he was in a dress in a comedy so that people could laugh at him.

  • Fair enough, if you can get this one for near-free then it can fit the bill if you're determined and have the skills.

My baby is a 1980 Yamaha TY175 that was pulled from a shed and I custom built it into a full competition machine so I don't think I can criticise. It cost me about 5000€ in total, and still needs a couple of things, lol

  • It's a Rieju Tango, 10hp of mountain goat farm bike!

I've had lots of expensive, fast, or fancy bikes in the past, this one is the most fun

  • I have to admit that the best commute I ever had took 20 minutes by bicycle, mostly off road. Every morning I'd get to see wildlife, beautiful sunrises, fresh air, and all while I was getting fit. Wish I still had that :-/

  • Klinger wants to get classified as crazy by wearing dresses, which implies that wearing different clothes is a sign of mental illness. Herr Flick gets sexual gratification from wearing women's clothes, thus implying that wearing different clothes is something only a sexual deviant would do. Both of these stereotypes continue to be used to harm Trans women.

  • Mash and Allo Allo both have no shortage of jokes about cross-dressing and plenty of casual sexism. Fawlty Towers ... is also a product of it's time, any good parts get outweighed by the bad parts.

  • There's also an episode where Quark undergoes gender reassignment in order to close a deal, which is played for laughs and includes lines about women being sensitive because of their hormones. It sticks out because it's just horrible, while she show is generally good.
