Makes sense. Their seasons got shorter in 2017 to 10 episodes/year. 2020/21 they only released 4 hour long specials. Season 26 in 2023 was only 6 episodes long.

I would highly recommend watching season 20 at the very least before watching season 27.

Also Season 4 episode 9/10 (do handicapped kids go to heaven) if you can, but it's not necessary. But there is a LOT of references.
