  • Some excellent observations here thank you. Viewing the bubbles as symptoms rather than the disease, really makes the "twist" as the end into more of a "reveal". I tend not to prefer Russel T Davies brand of storytelling but even in my confusion I thought this was a stand-out episode.

    Also always worth noting that Gatwa’s final scene here was the first scene he shot as the Doctor

  • My sad take is that I felt like I noticed a shift in the opinions of fandom after that infamous Red Letter Media review in 2012. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love those reviews and think they're hilarious, but a lot of Redditors (and Lemmy-ers) seemed to look at the Plinkett character as someone worth emulating instead of despising.

  • I don't think this one is so bad. Polarized plating reduced the effectiveness of energy weapons the same way polarized sunglasses reduce the glare from the sun.

    If anything a vague "shields up" makes even less sense.
