  • I would say hand size is something I'd avoid too. Particularly women and trans-women get mocked for "man-hands" a lot. I know you're talking about Trump, and in that context I'm not really aware of any major stigma, I would just be worried about creating it.

But like I said, I'm not trying to stop you having fun, and it doesn't seem particularly harmful so go ahead 😁

  • Totally, I don't want to get into the nuances of penis size preferences, as the vast majority of people are happy with any donger (barring medical conditions), but of course, as you've said, there are outliers.

It just upsets me to watch men obsess about penis size, so I probably came across too strongly, sorry about that 😅

I also have no problem with humour, I try to avoid it as I see it as body shaming, but I'm not gonna be a party pooper

  • This meme is just perpetuating two harmful ideas:

    1. Reinforcing the expectation that black men have huge dongers
    2. That donger size matters and is a measure of self worth

You'll notice that whilst point 2 effects all men, point 1 is more harmful to black men, as they hold their body to a higher unrealistic standard. Plus it's part of the creepy fetishization of "exotic" people.

Tying people disliking these concepts to them being "pale" is just kinda weird, dismissive, and frankly plain racist.

I'm not personally offended by the post, and haven't downvoted it, I just hate seeing the closed minded and unempathetic mindset that your comment demonstrates

  • That's just an APU, see consoles and laptops. The unified memory is basically just the above, but Apple also claims that due to Apple Silicon having the storage controller on board, the swap is magically faster 🤷

Also Mac OS/Linux use less RAM than Windows which certainly helps.

8GB is "fine™" on a MacBook Air, but it's criminal for a Pro machine, and it certainly should not cost £200 for an extra 8GB. That's genuinely insane pricing

  • Totally agree, I interpret it in the same way as saying that people are blowing/fellating you. Not saying that is/isn't sexist, but it is crude, especially as a public statement from a company. I'm just trying to get the facts straight

  • I can't help but notice that she isn't disagreeing with the translation. Just that the intention is somewhat disguised behind cultural barriers.

The infamous "I want to expand my circle and hire more people, get licked until can't get an erection." she describes as "crude" meaning it isn't a completely off base translation (which honestly surprised me). It's clear she has a bias, and is upfront about it, so I think she's being more forgiving than a Western audience would be if a Western dev said similarly crude things.

I think a lot of the context is helpful, particularly about Chinese devs using female players as part of their own marketing. So "pandering to female players" is more directly associated with exploiting female players.

Clearly the studio has some statements the West would consider iffy, even with cultural context in mind. So the accusations of sexism don't seem as cut and dry as either side is making it out to be

  • I know you peeps probably didn't mean it this way, but men fall victim to the same psychological traps women do. It's not that easy to just leave a bad relationship, especially if you don't have the expectations and tools required to identify what's not normal

  • Assassin's Creed is the best example I can think of. It added a store to literally buy gear. Also see like every MMO. This one is more of a reach, but I'd also say something like Hunt: Showdown falls victim to this, as it would be awesome if you could see a hunter and know their "power level" by the cosmetics.

Horizon, both ZD and FW, are a modern example of having gear progression that exists and isn't ruined by microtransactions

  • I feel like gear progression is massively underrated. I love to dress up with my muscley rpg man, and make him look cooler and more awesome as he gets stronger. I don't want the best cosmetics locked behind a paywall. In MMOs it also just murders any respect/cred you get from having awesome gear that needed you to clear an epic raid or similar.

I get the whole cosmetics thing for "free to pay" e-sport-esc games though, where there's not really any gear progression

  • Well, your comment was generic of all ages. Not saying something along the lines of "16 year olds are intelligent enough to vote", which I would agree with.

We can just just lower the 18 to 16 and resume the same conversation. No need to be condescending, you're turning a misunderstanding into a disagreement
