  • Yes absolutely, and that's why I don't think commercial social media will die. But I do think it will come to more be associated with activities gambling or vaping.

  • Not excusing ignorance but it is wild how different the experience of the average man or woman can be just existing in public. It makes sense to me that a man who is largely a basement dweller would have no first hand exposure to that sort of behavior.

  • Immuteability is what enabled me to finally switch over full time. I don't think a lot of geeks yet realize how huge they are going to be for wider-spread adoption.

  • idk I've gotten mine into a state i couldnt fix more times than I can count. Immuteable distros have been a game changer for me and if I'm being honest I think they're going to be the biggest thing for mainstream adoption in Linux's entire history.

  • I'm a little surprised a womens only instance hasn't sprung up yet. It's a situation that would need more specific moderation needs.

  • Sudachi is also being updated, though it's entirely minor issues and not compatibility related yet.

  • Fair warning that Element is not anywhere close to being as polished as Discord, but it doesn't hurt to just suggest to try it out and see what the reception is like. As others have said you probably don't push the matter too hard but it doesn't hurt to ask and lay out your reasons.

  • Yeah it's funny how something on a "vibes" level just made me feel like me something was off and made me look into it closer. I worry that one day I won't have that weird feeling anymore.

  • There will always be two types of users: people looking to connect and people looking to be entertained. Fedi is better at the former and commercial better at the latter.

  • Haven't used the command line since installing Kinoite, it's... weird.

  • Thank you for teaching me about RedLib. I thought the libReddit project was done with the API changes.

  • I think it would have been cool to have 1 or 2 Kazon episodes, and then maybe a surprise one or two seasons later when Voyager discovers they had been followed or something. But it was just not a good idea to try and make them the main antagonists as long as they did.

  • Sarek felt that he could have demonstrated more affection towards his human wife in a way that was meaningful to her. That is not the same thing as saying that Vulcan culture is unaffectionate, or that other Vulcans would consider Sarek as not affectionate.

  • Not in New York City apparently but yes hopefully they're more affordable for smaller libraries.

  • OP is referring to Vulcan culture. Sarek's displays of affection would probably not be considered "restrained" in a Vulcan-Vulcan relationship.

  • Good advice, also Fedora's "atomic" distros are both bleeding edge and extremely stable!

  • I agree with you completely. No disrespect to Mint, but immutability is (IMO) possibly the most important advancement for Linux adoption in its entire history. I would love to see more distros release immutable versions.
