At least on Lemmy I can go create my own instance and not have corpo mods forced into it and me forcefully removed. I'd much rather have that with 4 other members than a massive community I risk being ousted from for dumb bullshit any day
You're not really wrong, but what else should I do? It's not like I let his bullshit slide and shrug it off and go "oh you!" I let him know when he's wrong and why he's wrong, and we can still remain friends. That's a win in my opinion.
Having said that, they might get kids killed when they're trying to hide from a gunman but can't stop coughing because the room is filled with pepperball dust.
I'm pretty staunchly left leaning and am friends with a MAGA supporter. If anything, he isn't an outright bad person, he's just...really ignorant and holds some very warped and manipulated views of reality. He tends to just see headlines and not think critically about what information he accepts as fact, instead operating primarily on emotion (shocker). I feel like I've changed his mind on a few things, but I'll certainly never dig him entirely out of that trench, not that that's really my place or goal. These days we mostly just avoid talking politics, probably because he's sick of me debunking all the crap that comes out of his mouth lol.
I think the point is the 174x growth, not the final number based on the arbitrary $100. If you'd invested $10,000, you'd have $1,740,000 (simple extrapolation not accounting for dividend reinvesting, it's too early for math)
I meant more of a societal "our", more-so than Lemmy users specifically. We're certainly a bit ahead of the curve, but most of the content that lands here still comes from other social media sites first.
Not to mention there will always be methods for and hackers jailbreaking devices. Even Windows 11's TPM requirements have been defeated, anything else will be too.
It isn't bullshit per se. It is by and large what they want when polled, but they're too fucking stupid, too hung up on single issue voting, or too easily misled and naive and think the awful people they keep voting for will somehow not fuck them over some day
Even the majority of republican voters want health care reform. It's a cross-party issue, for sure. Trump even lied and said he had some beautiful, magical healthcare plan that'll fix everything. People who believed him are clearly still idiots of course.
50 Shades of Grey be like...
