  • Nearly every photographer that comments on this issue says it is OK if you do it very briefly such as when you are taking a scenery photo and the sun is in the picture. The argument for it not being safe is that some of the more recent smartphones use larger and faster lenses (f/1.7 to f/2.0) to get better resolution, and that can be a problem. Most digital cameras have an Auto mode in which they will automatically reduce the exposure speed and increase the f/stop to take the photo, and this will not harm the camera

  • They make oral swabs to check if people have smoked within the last few hours or so, although I don't think that works for edibles. Urine or hair test will always be unreliable for this use case because it shows up in those if you've used in the least few months to years. But anyway my point was that there are ways to test for intoxication similar to DUI breathalyzer.

  • It's used in shredded cheese as well to prevent the cheese from sticking to itself. It's also why you don't really want to use shredded cheese in foods where the cheese needs to properly melt like grilled cheese sandwiches or pizza.

  • Alternatively you learned to jump through all of Window's hoops over the years of using it. Also, experience in the sense of configuration and hoops can vary wildly by distro. Linux has of course not always had the cleanest UI/UX but it's always getting better and simply does not have the level of investments as Windows or MacOS. When Linux does have investment and runs on corporate sponsored hardware it's usually pretty solid and easy to use e.g. ChromeOS, Android, and many server and cloud products. Also some people may appreciate the level of customizability that "washing clothes by hand" provides.

  • Nah, healthy food is cheaper but it'll take more effort and might not always taste as good as restaurant food. You can concentrate the effort by meal prepping. You can eat rice, chicken, and broccoli for much cheaper than most restaurants.

I have co-workers that spend ungodly amounts of money on 3rd party app ordered fast food. Thinking you're saving money is cope and you'll feel like shit.

Before someone says it I am aware of the studies on obesity being more prevalent in low income areas. I do think some people are under a time crunch that can't be worked around and sympathize there. Same with food deserts and such.

  • Pong, walk them through the generations.

IDK it kind of depends on what they might be into. Maybe something like Minecraft, Portal/Portal 2, or Skyrim where the mechanics aren't too complicated. I think multiplayer can be a big way to keep people interested too. I've gotten my parents who dislike video games to enjoy Golf with Friends and Jackbox games.

If they like puzzles that's also kinda easy there's tons of low barrier to entry stuff.
