It's like a different world. They have different slang, music tastes, different types of friend and school drama, physical energy levels, at a different stage of their life, etc. I agree, what do you even talk about?
I was making a joke about right-wingers calling every slightly social, pro-labor, feminist, or anti-racist policy (basically anything that isn't taxes for the rich) "communist".
They're not our friends? It's the other way around. We've been helping Israel kill them and take their land for decades and decades. We're on Israel's side of every peace talk, pressuring Palestine to take horrible deals that isolates them and keeps them separated, covering Isreal when the UN tries to censure them for human rights violations and war crimes, selling them the bombs and weapons they use to kill Palestinian children and families, bomb their neighborhoods and hospitals, pretend we give a shit with a token of humanitarian aid that hasn't helped the bare minimum of calories they get, the majority of their water being poison, the extremely high unemployment rate, the constant buzzing sound of drones overhead that increases their stress and ruins their sleep, or the general oppressive apartheid state they live under and always while at the same time continuing to sell the tools of murder and destruction to Israel.
Of course they're not our friends after all that. And of course after all that they are gong to do an armed struggle. An attack the scale of October 7th has only happened once, and it's the result of years of the deaths being way higher on the Palestinian side and there being nothing they can do about it. October 7th is the only time Hamas has barely touched Israel. Meanwhile, Israel has been killing all Palestinians (including civilians, not just Hamas) disproportionately for years and no one has done or said anything on their behalf. Even their peaceful marches lead to them dying or losing limbs and no other change. So what do you expect them to do? Just do the nice thing for us and die quietly? Cozy up to their oppressors? Holding Hamas against Palestine is like holding the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising against all Jews because " clearly they practice violence".
I appreciate what you're saying about genocide bad, this is just all a response to the comment about them not being our friends. They would be huge friends of ours if we helped them get equal rights or integrate into a one state solution, but the US has never been as interested in that as they are helping Israel complete their mission of settler colonialism.
Sounds like it's a similar charge for her. She was implicated in some kind of conspiracy against the government, including getting sanctions on them and possible assassinations, as well as corruption and fermenting violent protests. It could all be faked or trumped up, but it is interesting that everybody here is assuming it is while the US literally is going through the same thing right now, except we might end up with a fascist President if we don't get him off the fucking ballot.
You realize they've been sanctioned to shit for decades by the US, right? That makes them extremely vulnerable to price changes to oil, their basically only economic export. They probably should be diversifying more, though.
From what I can tell, conspiracy (against the government), inciting violent protests, and corruption. It's weird they don't say it in the article. But she says the protests were supposed to be peaceful and some of the conspiracy evidence was faked, which it might be, idk, I wasn't in the court room.
But considering the US is still doing shit like this, I could see why they have to be paranoid.
Her party tried to rob a military arsenal, she was charged with a conspiracy and corruption, and so she can't run. It went through their courts. It all seems legal, considering people in the US can't run for similar reasons. It might be corrupt, idk, but the US doesn't have a leg to stand on with corrupt courts. Why sanction other countries, which always affects the regular citizens, for this stuff we can't even figure out ourselves?
Now they're going to make Venezuela people poorer for not fixing problems we can't even fix in our damn country? It seems hypocritical. Hell, people should sanction us for allowing a fascist insirrectiomist run for President against the law ofnour Constitution. That's way worse for the world.
Millions of them have been displaced. They're starving and dying every day. Disease is rampant. Tens of thousands are dead. They're running out of hospitals to use. Genocide isn't the kind of thing you can do a "wait and see" approach for. I get what you're saying, but people need to keep pressuring him. I hope no one takes this small victory as an excuse to stop.
Unfortunately it's still a spell you have to be aware of and prep for or players will absolutely shortcut the mystery if they catch you off-guard with this spell. There's lots of spells like this in DnD 5e which kind of annoys me. I want to give PF2 a try, which smartly marks the plot affecting spells that can instantly solve social and other plots.
And plenty of home owning people trash their homes, too. I think it's just how some people are with their shelter ¯(ツ)/¯ . Check out the show Hoarders, for example.
Meanwhile, plenty of renters take care of their place because it's where they live. I take care of my rented apartment more than my fucking landlord does, and he supposedly owns it. It's supposed to be his only job to call people to fix things when I bring it up or point out an issue while it's still small, yet it still is a coin toss whether someone will show up or not. I don't think the categories are so easily placed.
They've already been dying. There's basically been a war ongoing for decades, as they've slowly put the area under siege and taken territory and killed and imprisoned people. It's just the international community has ignored it.
How did they push it into civilian centers? They aimed for a military base. I don't know why Israel allowed a music festival right next to there. It's more like Israel has been pushing civilian centers into them as they slowly but steadily take territory and put their own settlers on Palestinian land.
I don't think this was a good option. You're putting words in my mouth and I don't appreciate that. I really think Hamas fucked up with October 7th. What I think is that Hamas probably won't exchange their hostages, whichever ones they have left that haven't starved to death or died from Israeli bombs, because it's their only bargaining chip now.
Oh they definitely fucked up. You won't hear any argument on that from me. We all saw it coming that day. But if I was them, I would also realize that it becomes especially worthless if they lose all their hostages, too.
You think this started on October 7th? What about the years beforehand of deaths? Do you need someone to bring out the chart again comparing civilian deaths for the last few decades?
