  • Thanks, I don’t have the game (yet… it’s in the wishlist, waiting for a sale) so I’m not 100% up to date with whatever is going on. I have a quick skim of the first article I’ve found, and that was either missing or I missed it. You know, I haven’t even skimmed the game’s page, so to be honest I’m seeing how that could be a detail people would fail to notice lol. Getting one more account to use the thing that is logged in with a different account is a thing I don’t like, but I think I have a full Pokédex of them by now (sigh)… so I usually just need to grumble while filling in the details.

  • You know, aside from the change after months of the release (and apparently the availability on Steam in countries where there’s no PSN?) I don’t see what’s the big deal. Yes it’s annoying, but at the same time everyone else does it and that’s hardly ever causing uproar.

Downvote and argument your opinion. Because what I’m saying is go make a stink about (for example) Microsoft games on Steam requiring a MS account, don’t be selective in your dislike for multiple accounts.

  • Speaking of, what browser do you use for this? I have tried Vivaldi but even in its default “trust me bro, I’m Chrome” user agent it says it’s not supported. Firefox says it’s supported but I got no stream and in the end I despise less Edge compared to Chrome so that’s what I’m using…

  • You know, upon further reflection you’re right. I can see some mini dv cassettes that look like they are just off the factory floors, countered by the cover of my old iPhone 5 that’s sewage colored so that’s probably what comes after yellow, my old G-Shock is yellowing and that’s impressive given it’s dark gray, but the box for the Swatch Beat is crystal clear.

  • Yep, he’s an architect and the choice of nice and transparent cover was purely cosmetic. I don’t think he really cares what other people think, but going from nice to yellowed is another matter.

I have a similar attitude towards colors as you do: if there’s one that costs less, I’m going for it. Once found a gimbal that somehow was half the price in the pink variant: I now have a conversation starter that when folded, thanks to the gentle pink hue and the overall shape, looks like a dildo. The really, really amusing thing in all of this is that my computer is fully white. The case was slightly less expensive in white. The psu was on offer in the white variant. Towards the end of the gpu shortage one of the few available, the least expensive one, was white… it sits under the desk, with the glass panel towards the wall. XD

  • AND they like to yellow at the speed of light. My brother got a nice, transparent cover for his phone “it’s going to look awful in a few months” and sure enough a few months later he had a different one precisely because of that.

  • I mean… back in the 90’s the news from the other side of the world were kinda iffy, with obvious bullshit like a man in China having an hiccup for 30 years, or another being 200 years old, or the even more laughable idea of a school shooting in the US…

    Crazy is normal.

  • I would personally steer clear of that specific controller unless I’d plan on using it with a Switch or a Switch emulator: digital triggers? Sure fire way to have trouble with most things released in the last pair of decades.

Anyway with the Deck so far I’ve happily used an 8bitdo Sn 30 Pro+, an Xbox Series S one and, not necessarily a sensible thing but still a nice test, a GameSir T4 Kaleid (that is my overall main controller). Somehow I’m still lazing and not getting around to test the DualSense

  • On the other hand it’s possible the opposite. Gunner HEAT PC is verified. There’s no way to get 30 fps and controls barely work with a keyboard, so I wonder what the devil happened between the time it got verified and when I tried it.

  • The absurd thing is that it even depends on the game. I’ve initially tried without any problems the crappy phone vr with… the iPhone 5s, I think? Then the first PS VR on a base PS4, and titles known to upset people like EVE Valkyrie and Drive Club had no effect on me. “Comfort settings” typically meant just blinding me without a reason. Then, 20 minutes of Arizona Sunshine… and I wasn’t able to stomach the thought of vr for almost a year.

  • Seconding this. I had a rock solid Ender 3 since 2018 that got a few upgrades (btt 32 bit silent board, geared extruder, abl, couple of printed add ons) but never really needed any maintenance, recently upgraded to a Sovol SV07 Plus (big SV07, mechanically similar to the SV06) and hot damn! It’s a beast. Not only it goes stupid fast, can reach higher temperatures, heats faster… but it’s great out of the box and it prints TPU like nothing. Really, I tested it without changing anything and it worked fine. Downsides are that I got used to Octoprint and it can’t be used here, but Klipper is a decent replacement. Now, the ugly bit about that: it’s running on a really cheap board and an oddly customized os. You don’t notice any of that normally so that’s a plus, HOWEVER if like me you have a Spaghetti Detective/Obico account things change. There’s some copy paste to do via ssh, then the webcam struggles to hit 15 fps and whatever you do DON’T push any update button! Those wrecked everything. Not a fun few hours when I tried to figure out how to fix it.

Anyway the SV06 mentioned by OP is with Marlin rather than Klipper so none of the warnings apply :D

  • If it’s colored, it’s bad. I have a lovely purple GITD pla that even had a warning about the purple one not being that much glowy, it still surprised me. Very short time, very dim even if charged with a UV light… I like the color so all in all no big deal, but wow. Speaking of the suggestion of using UV reactive filament (light that, by the way, would keep the GITD ones glowing) some colors just look bright even without needing to be special. For example I have a bright green PETG that pops with UV light.

  • So let me get this straight… The thing is trained on text harvested from the internet. Turns out that (Star Trek aside) if you ask politely it’s more likely to access the data leading to the answer? Anyone surprised by the fact that asking nicely, is more likely that the human on the other side of the connection will write the answer, that is then harvested for AI training?

  • I’m guessing there’s a mix. The smallest version is 700 million, possibly the one used to generate the time data reported, but the largest (or not?) still runs with 8gb. If I remember correctly SD3 is supposed to have multiple versions, starting from 800 millions and going up, so this is going to be interesting.

  • My understanding (potentially obsolete!) is that the integrated gpu of the Deck isn’t supported by, uh… whatever the AMD equivalent of Cuda was called, also there’s a chance you’d have to install it manually too.
